Small business entrepreneurs will again have the opportunity to showcase their products and services come Wednesday, April 22, when the historic Chamberlain Bridge in Bridgetown is transformed into the Urban Development Commission???s (UDC) Market Place.

The Market, which will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., forms part of the UDC???s activities to mark International Earth Day.

The initiative is aimed at creating a developmental platform for entrepreneurs and merging the efforts of the private and public sectors to enhance business opportunities.??Small business entrepreneurs who are interested in participating in the Market Place should contact Leon Chase at 417-1420 ext. 1524, by Monday, April 20.

Also as part of its activities to celebrate International Earth Day, the UDC has invited the pupils of Bay Primary School to a historical and educational tour of Bridgetown, namely the Careenage and its environs.

The tour, which is being facilitated by Historian Trevor Marshall, will begin at the Commission at 1:30 p.m. with a short presentation.??In addition, the employees of the Commission will clean up debris from the Careenage, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Celebrated annually on April 22, International Earth Day brings attention to the fact that the earth???s ecosystems provide humans with life and sustenance. It also raises public awareness around the world to the challenges of the planet and the life that it supports.
