The Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) Report for Barbados, which provides up-to-date information on children and women, will be officially launched on Wednesday, September 24.

Minister of Social Care, Steven Blackett, will deliver the feature address and present the report, while Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Senator Jepter Ince; and United Nations Children???s Fund (UNICEF) Representative, Khin-Sandi Lwin, will give remarks.

The MICS, an international household survey programme developed by UNICEF, was conducted in Barbados in 2012 by the Barbados Statistical Service as part of the fourth global round of MICS surveys.

Financial and technical support was provided by UNICEF, the United Nations Population Fund, and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.??This survey also measures key indicators that allow countries to monitor progress towards the Millennium Development Goals and other internationally agreed- upon commitments.
