The National Housing Corporation (NHC) is intensifying its building programme, which will see another 64 housing units constructed in a short time.

Word of this has come from the NHC’s Special Assignments Officer for Terrace Units, Roger Ward. He disclosed that there are firm plans afoot to construct 22 two-storey rental units in Tweedside Road, another 20 in Forde’s Road and 22 in Haggatt Hall.

He underlined that “the Corporation is re-emphasising the provision of rental units, as it accepts that there will be those who need this type of accommodation.”

Mr. Ward assured that “all of the necessary planning approval is in place for these units, and the Corporation is about ready to go to tender.”
