Barbadians will have an opportunity to learn more about the former High Altitude Research Project (HARP) when the Barbados Museum and Historical Society hosts a historical hike at month end.

The walk will take place on Saturday, January 28, from 6:00 to 8:30 a.m. It starts at Foul Bay, St. Philip and move along the scenic Barbadian south coast to the old HARP Gun at Paragon, Christ Church.

Barbadians are invited to "come and see for themselves" the gun, which in 1966 fired a projectile to a height of 112 miles, a world record which still stands.

The hike is free of cost, but spaces are limited and persons are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.

To reserve space, persons are asked to contact the Barbados Museum & Historical Society, St. Ann’s Garrison, at 427-0201 or at email info@barbmuse.org.bb.
