Visual artists, collectors, art students and lovers of art will have an opportunity this coming Saturday, February 27, to learn more about the protection and maintenance of valuable artworks.
The National Art Gallery Committee (NAGC) of the Ministry of Community Development and Culture will host an "Art Conservation Open Day", at the Barbados Museum & Historical Society, St. Ann’s Garrison, St. Michael, from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The public is invited to visit with Paintings and Works-on-paper Consultant Conservators, Lidia Aravena and Luis Larrazabal, to observe conservation techniques for paintings, maps and old photographs, ask for advice on the care of personal collections, learn how to create longer lasting artworks and explore the possibility of a career in conservation.????
Limited seating is available on a "first-come first-served" basis.
Further information on Art Conservation Open Day may be obtained by contacting the NAGC Secretariat at 310-2700, firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling the Barbados Museum & Historical Society at 427-0201.??
