The Animal Control Centre of the Ministry of Health will host National Animal Week, beginning this Saturday, October 4, with a Dog Fair on the grounds of Roberts Manufacturing Company Limited at Lower Estate, St. Michael. The activity runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

On Sunday, October 5, there will be a church service at St. James Parish Church, Holetown, St. James at 9:00 a.m.

School children will get the opportunity to tour the Hope Sanctuary at Newcastle, St. John, on Monday, October 6, and Tuesday, October 7. Guided tours will be facilitated by veterinarians Dr. Nicole Tull and Dr. Terrence Mayers.

Wednesday October 8, is Open Day at the Animal Control Centre, Lazaretto Complex, Lower Black Rock, St. Michael. Visitors will tour the centre and observe humane shelter operations and temperature testing.

On Saturday, October 11, the week ends with a motorcade moving off from the General Post Office, Cheapside, at 9:00 a.m., and travelling to the Weymouth Sports Club on Roebuck Street, where an all-day rally will be held.

The rally will pay tribute to ???Canines in Service??? and featured speakers will include representatives from the National Disabilities Unit, the Barbados Working Dog Association, the Blind Dog Association and the Animal Control Centre. Guest artistes will include Alison Hinds, Terencia ???TC??? Coward, John King and Adrian Clarke.
