The coffers of the National HIV/AIDS Commission got a boost yesterday when Soloist, Enid Gay, presented a monetary donation to Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Henrick Ellis.

Mrs. Gay handed over the proceeds from a concert she staged last December 6, in support of the National HIV and AIDS Programme. She was accompanied on the night by Organist at the Cathedral of St. Michael and All Angels, John Bryan, and the Royal Barbados Police Force.

The former nurse said she had, for a long time, been concerned about persons infected and affected by the HIV virus and the concert was her way of showing how much she cared about this vulnerable group.

While accepting the contribution, Dr. Ellis stressed that it would greatly assist the Commission with its humanitarian programmes.
