The Caribbean Permaculture Research Institute of Barbados, in association with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Global Environmental Facility Small Grants Programme of the United Nations Development Programme, is inviting persons to participate in its Farmers Market at Graeme Hall, Christ Church.

The first market will take place on Saturday, April 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and is expected to continue every Saturday.??

The market is open for farmers who grow natural, organic, or conventional local fresh produce; culinary and medical herbs; and dairy and meat free of genetically modified organisms. Free range eggs, prepared foods, pastries, preserves, refreshments, jewellery, natural fertilisers and other items will also be on sale.??

Vendors who wish to participate are required to pay a registration fee, and supply their own tent, umbrellas and tables. For further information, persons should contact Lorraine Ciarallo, at 266-3521, or by email at market@cpribarbados.com.
