The recently constructed pavilion at Greens, St. George will be officially opened this Wednesday, January 19, during a ceremony at the facility.
Minister of Sports, Stephen Lashley, will deliver the feature address, while his predecessor, Dr. Esther Byer Suckoo, will give remarks and they will unveil the plaque.
Work on the playing field started a number of years ago, but the pavilion and resource centre were started in February 2009 and completed 11 months later. The features include a ramp to accommodate physically challenged persons and a resource centre to assist those in the community who do not have access to the internet.??
The National Sports Council has over 70 pavilions, 105 playing fields and 66 hard courts across the island.??
