“Submit your completed nomination forms for the 2009 Barbados Tourism Awards now!”

This is the call from the Chairperson of the Barbados Tourism Awards Main Committee and Chief Tourism Development Officer (Ag.) in the Ministry of Tourism, Nicole Alleyne, as nominations for the Barbados Tourism Awards come to a close this Friday, March 6.

She said that nomination forms are available from the Ministry of Tourism, the Barbados Tourism Authority, the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association and the Barbados Workers’ Union.

Persons may also download nomination forms from www.barbadostourismawards.com  or complete them online. All completed nomination forms are to be returned to Caribbean Catalyst Inc., the entity responsible for the nomination, selection and judging processes, which is located on River Road, St. Michael.

“So far there has been favourable response to the various categories, but we would like to see more interest shown in our new categories, namely the Bravery/Honesty Award, the HIV/AIDS Award and our new industry category, the Tourism Micro Enterprises, which will be listed under the ‘Award of Excellence’, said Mrs. Alleyne.

Persons may also nominate individuals and businesses/organisations in other award categories, including the Achievement of Excellence Award, Tourism Student Excellence Award, Environmental Excellence Award, Pillar of Industry Award – Individual, and Pillar of Industry Award – Business/Organisation.
