Promoting healthy eating habits among children and young people will be the focus of activities planned by the National Nutrition Centre to celebrate Nutrition Week 2016.

The week will be observed from Sunday, May 22, to Saturday, May 28, and the theme is: Healthy Foods for Children and Young People.

On Monday, May 23, community nutrition officers will conduct presentations at four primary and secondary schools from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m.

The schools involved will be The People???s Cathedral, St. Matthew???s Primary, Coleridge and Parry School and the Princess Margaret Secondary School.

On Thursday, May 26, the Centre will join forces with the Barbados Drug Service to host an interactive mini-lecture on Smart Eating ??? Children Making Healthy Food Choices for 190 primary school students at the Church of the Nazarene, Collymore Rock, St Michael from 1:00 p.m.

And on Friday, May 27, there will be a nutrition and physical activity session for specially invited students in the car park of the National Nutrition Centre, Ladymeade Gardens, St. Michael, at 11:00 a.m.
