Panel Discussion For Senior Citizens??? Month

The St. Philip District Hospital will host a panel discussion entitled "To Restrain or Not to Restrain", as part of its activities for Senior Citizens’ Month.

It takes place on Thursday, September 10, at the Holy Trinity Church Hall, opposite King George V Memorial Park, St. Philip, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The panellists include Gerontologist, Dr. Ambrose Ramsay; Attorney-at-Law, Alicia Archer; and Senior Welfare Officer, Colleen Walcott.?? The moderator is producer, Michael Browne.

All are invited to attend.??

Meanwhile, other activities requiring public participation during the month are a sports day, open days, a variety concert, appreciation days, and a boat cruise.

On Thursday, September 3, the St. Lucy District Hospital will hold a Sports Day on its grounds, at Hope Road, near River Bay, St. Lucy, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The District Hospital will also host a variety concert on its grounds on Saturday, September 5, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. There will be performances by calypsonians, Grynner and John King; Ifie and the Stiltwalkers; the Little People Fun and Frolic Group; and the Barbados Community College Chorale.

On Saturday, September 11, the St. Philip District Hospital will have a staff appreciation and open day at its Ruby, St. Philip location, beginning at 12:30 p.m.

The Gordon Cummins District Hospital, at Rock Hall, St. Thomas, will have its open day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19.

Tuesday, September 22, will be a day of fun on the sea, as the National Assistance Board’s (NAB) annual boat cruise comes off on board the Harbour Master, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Further information and tickets may be obtained from the NAB at Murrell House, Country Road, St. Michael.

The Barbados Association of Retired Persons will hold its Elders’ Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 26, at Pax Hill, Guides’ Headquarters, Belmont Road, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The theme for the day will be "Bridging the Gap".

The month of activities is being held under the theme "Honouring the Past, Embracing the Future, Toward a Society for All Ages".??
