A parade and church service will officially launch Education Month 2015, this Friday, October 2.

The parade starts at 9:00 a.m. on the street outside Southern Plaza, Oistins, with over 150 students from schools in Christ Church expected to participate.

These include Brownies, Cubs, Cub Scouts, Guides, Scouts and Cadets, who will be led by Principal of Ellerslie Secondary School, Major Errol Brathwaite.

They will be accompanied by the drum corps from the Graydon Sealy Secondary School.??The march will proceed through Oistins to Pegwell, and on to the bottom of Thornbury Hill. The troop will then turn left and head towards Church Road and on to the Christ Church Parish Church.

The service at Christ Church Parish Church starts at 10:00 a.m., and the sermon will be delivered by Minister Dwight Saul. It will also be addressed by Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ronald Jones, and Chief Education Officer (Ag), Karen Best. Students from various schools across the island are also expected to participate.
