The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation is continuing the activities under the Enhancing Teacher Effectiveness Component of the Education Sector Enhancement Project II (ESEP II).
The main objective of this component of the ESEP II is to ensure the development and institutionalisation of a strategy for improving teacher preparation, school leadership, teaching practice and teacher evaluation.
The final Mission of the Consultancy for the Development of School Teacher Effectiveness Plans (STEPs) is currently ongoing until Friday, December 4.??An important component of the project is to expose parents to teaching strategies which can improve student performance in the areas of literacy and numeracy.
As such, a Parents??? Forum will be held this Thursday, November 26, at The St. Michael School, Martindale???s Road, St. Michael, at 6:30 p.m. It will be held under the theme: Improving Literacy and Numeracy in Primary Schools.
Facilitators will be the Consulting Team for the Teacher Effectiveness Component of the ESEP II from the University of New Brunswick, consisting of Dr. Ann Sherman, Mr. David DeCoste, and Dr. Sherry Rose.??Parents of children at the eight project schools under ESEP II are invited to attend.
The schools are St. Elizabeth Primary, St. Joseph; A. Dacosta Edwards, St. Andrew; Belmont Primary, St. Michael; St. Martin???s Mangrove, St. Philip; Boscobel Primary, St. Peter; Wesley Hall Junior, St. Michael; Wilkie Cumberbatch, St. Michael; and St. Philip Primary, St. Philip.
