The Cultural Industries Development Authority (CIDA) will host another pitching programme from January 13 to 19, 2016, to assist cultural entrepreneurs in attracting investors.??

Designed by CIDA, the Pitch programme was created in response to findings which indicated that investors are often approached by cultural industries practitioners lacking in the key skills needed when pitching.

This often results in several cultural businesses missing the opportunity for investment, which could have a positive impact on the development of the business and the cultural industries in general.

The last programme, which ran from November 23 to December 1, saw eight cultural businesses being given the opportunity to enhance their ???pitching??? skills.

CIDA???s Senior Business Development Officer and Coordinator, Andre Hoyte, said that he was ???quite happy??? with the overall outcome of the programme, as it had an impact on a wide spectrum of cultural industries businesses, including Textile Design, App Development, Museums, Film & Television, Food and Entertainment.

The last session included topics such as Essentials Of Pitching; Product Readiness; The Financials Investors Want To Know; Telling Your Story In Pitching and Creating Your Pitch Deck.

Interested cultural practitioners are encouraged to contact Andre Hoyte at 621-2700 ext. 740, or email andre.hoyte@barbados.gov.bb, for more information.
