As Barbados celebrates its 50th Anniversary of Independence, public service employees have been given permission to wear casual shirts/t shirts or polo shirts and slacks or dress trousers in National Colours to work every Friday, particularly in the month of November.

They have been advised, however, that their dress should be appropriate for the public service.

In addition, employees are being encouraged to decorate their places of work, with lights or suitable decorations, throughout the month of November.

Meanwhile, staff of Government ministries and departments are also encouraged to purchase 50th anniversary memorabilia from the 50th Anniversary of Independence Celebrations Secretariat, which is located at the Old Town Hall Building, Bridgetown.  The telephone number there is 430-0045.
