Government offices will be operating with a small staff to deal with any emergencies during the morning of the Human Chain Link Activity, on Monday, November 28, but they are expected to be fully functional by mid-day.

This is in an effort to allow public employees an opportunity to participate in the Human Chain Link, which will be created around Barbados between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. It is being organised as part of the activities to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Independence of Barbados.

All ministries and departments are expected to register as a group, indicating the number of staff and the location where they will stand. For full information on the registration, public officers should log on to the website www.onepeopleonebarbados.org.

This activity is being organised by the Ministry of Education, Science, Innovation and Technology, in collaboration with the 50th Anniversary of Independence Celebrations Secretariat and two non-governmental organisations, namely, The Power of Choice and Trident 10 TV.

School children and employees of the private and public sectors, including statutory boards or agencies associated with departments and ministries are expected to participate in the event.
