Retail Prices Index For September 2015

The Index of Retail Prices for September 2015 stood at 169.2 points, thus representing no change when compared with the previous month.

According to data produced by the Barbados Statistical Service, increases were recorded for Food by 1.0 per cent; Clothing and Footwear by 0.6 per cent; Household Operations and Supplies by 0.3 per cent; and Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco by 0.1 per cent.

Decreases were registered for Fuel and Light by 3.8 per cent; Transportation by 1.6 per cent; and Housing, as well as Medical and Personal Care, by 0.1 per cent each.??Education, Recreation and Miscellaneous remained constant during the period.

Between September 2014 and September 2015, the Index of Retail Prices decreased by 1.1 per cent, from 171.1 to 169.2 points. The average inflation rate for that period was 0.2 per cent.
