The significance of the Rio+20 Dialogues to people at work and at home will be highlighted during a reception and presentation hosted by the Bellairs Research Institute of McGill University and the Ministry of the Environment and Drainage, tomorrow, Friday, June 15, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Academic and Managing Director of the Institute, Susan Mahon, will deliver the presentation on: What Rio Means on an Individual Level & on the National Level.

On Sunday, June 17, interested persons are invited to a Picnic and Pledge in the courtyard of the Bellairs Institute from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., where there will be live streaming from Rio to allow participants an opportunity to increase their understanding of themes and critical issues being addressed during the high level conference.

The main topic for the dialogue for that day will be: Food Security, Nutrition and Health.

Local food and drinks will be served during the picnic and admission is free.

All those participating in the reception and picnic are encouraged to: Paint Your Pledge, Plant Your Pledge or Purchase Your Pledge, as a sign of their commitment to the community and preserving the environment.

Participants taking part in the Dialogues will also be encouraged to make realistic pledges pertaining to sustainability and to express them in a tangible way.

All events will be held at the Bellairs Research Institute of McGill University, St. James.

Anyone requesting further details on the Dialogues should contact the Bellairs’ Administrative Office at bellairs@caribsurf.com or telephone 422-2946.
