The Media Resource Department (MRD), in collaboration with the Barbados Light & Power (BL&P) Co. Ltd., will host a prize-giving ceremony for BMEX 2017 and the Electricity and Renewable Energy Science Exposition, towards the end of this month.

The event will take place in the Christie Conference Room of the BL&P, Garrison Hill, St. Michael, on Thursday, June 29, from 10:00 a.m.

Senior personnel from the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, as well as the BL&P, will deliver remarks.

Last month, students across the island participated in the Electricity and Renewable Energy Science Exposition hosted by the MRD and sponsored by BL&P. It targeted primary school students aged seven to 11 and secondary students 12 to 18.

Winning entries were then displayed at BMEX’s School Exhibition at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, from June 2 to 5.

The students vied for a variety of awards and will now receive these at the prize-giving ceremony. Among these will be the Most Innovative School Display, won last year by Daryll Jordan Secondary School.
