New security measures have been implemented at all Magistrates’ Courts across the island with immediate effect.
In making this announcement, Registrar of the Supreme Court, Barbara Cooke-Alleyne has advised that under the new rules, only persons with legitimate business will be allowed onto the Courts’ premises.
Security personnel will reserve the right to deny entry to any person seeking to enter onto those premises.
In addition, items such as cigarette lighters, scissors, knives or anything which may be used as a weapon will be confiscated. All persons conducting business at the courts are also reminded that they must comply with the established dress code.
