Matters relating to the impact of various climatic phenomena on small island developing states (SIDS) and how they can be addressed through the use of modern technology or ???indigenous knowledge??? was among the areas discussed, when Israel???s Ambassador, Amiram Magid, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean.

During the call at the Ministry yesterday, the Foreign Minister mentioned the impact of climate change and sea level rise on SIDS and the need for countries to collaborate to find solutions.

Senator McClean added: ???We are not only saying that we are looking for developmental assistance externally, but also recognising that there is scope for us to collaborate to solve some of the very problems that we are talking about.???

The two officials also discussed training opportunities for Barbadians in Israel and the conflict in the Middle East.
Barbados and Israel established diplomatic ties on August 29, 1967.
