One such activity was a tree planting ceremony held at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology (SJPI), Wildey, St. Michael, on Monday. Principal of the SJPI, Dr. Ian Drakes, other staff members and past students took part in the event.

The activities continue tomorrow, Thursday, October 25, with a Mini Bingo Night from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.; a karaoke night on Friday, October 26, from 7:30 p.m. until midnight; and a business meeting and games night on Saturday, October 27, from 6:30 until 10:00 p.m.

All activities take place at the SJPI in Room A03. Persons who would like to join the SJPP Alumni Association may indicate so by emailing sjpp.alumni@gmail.com, or by calling 535-2245.

The SJPP Alumni Association is headed by president Cassandra Earle-Hazell and welcomes students who graduated from the SJPP between 1969 and 2017, before the institution was renamed.

The association was launched simultaneously with the renaming of the institution from the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic to the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology on October 19, last year.
