SJPP Course To Help Build Safer Houses

Building professionals including contractors, carpenters, masons, plumbers, roofers, engineers and architects are being encouraged to apply for a course in the Code of Practice for Safer Building of Houses to be held at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic (SJPP).

A collaborative effort between the SJPP and the Caribbean Emergency Disaster Management Agency, it is supported by the Department of Emergency Management.

Successful participants will be awarded the SJPP???s Unit Certificate worth two credits.

The 40-hour programme commences in January 2014 and will be held on Tuesdays from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. It will comprise interactive tuition and site visits.

Application forms are available at the Polytechnic or may be accessed at www.sjpp.edu.bb.Registration closes on Tuesday, December 31.
