The Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic (SJPP) will host a week of activities next week from Monday, September 25 to Friday, September 29.

Under the theme “Reconceptualizing SJPP, God’s Plan”, this year’s celebration will commence with a church service on Monday, September 25, at 10:00 a.m. in the SJPP’s Auditorium, Wildey, St. Michael.

On Tuesday, September 26, there will be a lunchtime presentation, from noon to 1:00 p.m., on The Evolution of Human Ecology: The Impact of Technology on our Training Requirements.

The following day, Wednesday, September 27, there will be another lunchtime presentation, from noon to 1:00 p.m., on Changes in the Automotive Industry, A closer look at Maritime Operations and Marine Diesel.

A major highlight of the week will be the launch of the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic’s Alumni Association on Thursday, September 28.

This will coincide with the institution’s 13th memorial lecture entitled: “Reconceptualizing Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Barbados and the Caribbean for the 21st Century” to be delivered by Dr. Ian A. Marshall, Lecturer, University of the West Indies, School of Education, Cave Hill Campus, in the auditorium beginning at 7:00 p.m.
