The Ellerton Community Playing Field is expected to come alive with an interesting blend of edutainment, on Saturday, November 28, when the St. George South Constituency Council hosts ???A Community Independence Extravaganza’ from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Patrons will receive some insight into better health, against the backdrop of lively entertainment. In addition to general health and environmental tips, individuals will benefit from a number of free health screenings, including blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and HIV tests.

Representatives of the HIV/AIDS Commission; the Glebe Polyclinic; the Heart and Stroke Foundation; the Labour and Welfare Departments; the National Disabilities Unit; the National Assistance Board; the Barbados Council for the Disabled;?? the Rural Development Commission and the Barbados Library Service, will also be on hand.

Children will be included in the activities, with jumping tents, storytelling, reading and face painting being among the exciting treats offered. The newly opened play park, adjacent to the pasture, will also provide additional recreation for the youngsters.

In addition to sports displays, persons will sell and market various products, as tent space has been made available.
