Gender Dimensions of HIV/AIDS will be the topic of discussion when the St. Thomas Constituency Council joins with the Bureau of Gender Affairs to host an educational public discussion, this Saturday, July 23, at the Revival Faith Centre, Dunscombe, St. Thomas. It starts at 6:00 p.m.

Representatives from the Bureau and the Black Rock Polyclinic will be on hand to discuss Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS; as well as highlight the ways in which they are transmitted and prevented.

Chairperson of the Council, Ruth Taylor, stated that the session was designed to encourage persons to take better care of their bodies "particularly as there is a rise in the incidence of HIV/AIDS, and we want to heighten the awareness of persons, in the hope that it would lead to positive and responsible behaviour."
