Statement On Kashi Granola Bars Recall

The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs is aware of the ‘Red Flag’ that has been raised concerning the recall of Kashi Granola Bar products.

The Trading Standard Inspectorate section of the Department is currently working with importers and distributors to ascertain whether these items have been imported into Barbados.

It is important to note that there have been no reports of illness associated with these products to date. The full brief is as follows:

Recalled Products

Kashi Granola Bars

  • Kashi Trail Mix Chewy Granola Bars with UPC Code 1862703000, size 7.4 oz and best before date of January 4, 2017 to January 9, 2017.
  •  Kashi Trail Mix Chewy Granola Bars with UPC Code 1862703000, size 7.4 oz and best before March 1, 2017 or earlier.
  • Kashi GOLEAN Honey Pecan Baklava Bars with UPC Code 1862710474, size 7.95 oz and best before July 21, 2016, August 7, 2016 and September 13, 2016.
  • Kashi Trail Mix Chewy Granola Bars with UPC Code 1862710302, size 42 oz and best before March 1, 2017 or earlier.
  • Kashi Trail Mix Chewy Trail Mix Granola Bars with UPC Code 1862737948, size 14.4 oz and best before March 1, 2017 or earlier.
  • Kashi GOLEAN Honey Pecan Baklava Bars with UPC Code 1862710471, size 19 oz and best before July 21, 2016, August 7, 2016 and September 13, 2016.
  • Kashi Whole Grain Trail Mix Bars PC Code 0 18627 43610 2, size 210g and best before January 4, 5 and 6, 2017 and February 10, 2017.
  • Kashi Whole Grain Bars PC Code 0 18627 50406 1, size 630g and best before September 11, 2016 and November 30, 2016.

Quaker Granola Bars

These products were recalled on May 16, 2016 are as follows:

  • 6.1 ounce boxes of Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars Chocolate Nut Medley.  The 6.1 ounce boxes of Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars Chocolate Nut Medley with UPC code 30000 32241 which is subject to this recall have “best before dates of 10/16/2016 and 10/17/2016.
  • 6.1 ounce boxes of Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars Yogurt, Fruit & Nut.  The 6.1 oz boxes of Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars Yogurt, Fruit & Nut with UPC code 30000 32243 which is subject to this recall have “best before dates of 10/10/2016 and 10/11/2016.

However, this recall was expanded to include the above mentioned products with best before dates before November 15, 2016.

Gold Medal Flour

  • 13.5 ounce Gold Medal Wondra Flour with UPC Code 000-16000-18980. Recalled Better if Used by Dates 25 FEB, 2017 thru 30 MAR, 2017.
  • 2 lb. Gold Medal All Purpose Flour with UPC Code 000-16000-10710. Recalled Better if Used by Dates 25 MAY, 2017KC thru 03 JUN, 2017KC.
  • 2lb Gold Medal Self-Rising Flour with UPC Code 000-16000-11710. Recalled Better if Used by Dates 23 AUG, 2016KC.
  • 10lb Gold Medal All Purpose Flour with UPC Code 000-16000-10410. Recalled Better if Used by Dates 02 JUN, 2017KC, 03 JUN, 2017KC.

  • 10lb Gold Medal All Purpose Flour- Banded Pack with UPC Code 000-16000-10410. Recalled Better if Used by Dates 03 JUN, 2017KC, 04 JUN, 2017KC, 05 JUN, 2017KC.

Also, please note that persons who would have travelled and bought Kashi Granola Bars, Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars and Gold Medal Flour overseas for their personal use, should also check to confirm that they do not have any of the recalled products.
