The work of the National Sports Council (NSC) and the way forward for the organisation will be examined this weekend, during a strategic planning meeting.

It will be held this Saturday, July 25, at the Amaryllis Beach Resort, Hastings, Christ Church, starting at 9:00 a.m. Minister of Sports, Dr. Esther Byer Suckoo, will deliver the feature address.

Key members of several sporting associations, namely football, swimming, cycling, bodybuilding, boxing, cricket, netball, basketball and track and field, will participate in the all day session. Senior coaches at the Council, as well as Board members of the NSC, will also be present.

In last year’s Throne Speech, which was delivered by the Acting Governor General, Elliott Belgrave, it was stated that Government would reorganise the National Sports Council to reach out more effectively to schools and communities.
