The training programme on Fish Handling and Quality Assurance will continue every Tuesday and Wednesday during the month of December at the Fisheries Division Training Room, Princess Alice Highway St. Michael.
Organised by the Markets Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Water Resource Management, it will cater to fish vendors, small processors, fishermen and boat owners.
All persons operating from established fish markets with authorised licences are advised to attend these training sessions, since it will soon be mandatory for the renewal of licences.
These measures are important at this stage since the Department has been encountering complaints from the general public regarding the quality of fish purchases.
Consequently, it is in the best interest of all the categories of persons mentioned above, to make full use of the remaining three weeks of these training sessions.Your continued cooperation is appreciated.
