The commemorative Broken Trident will journey to St. Thomas in February, with stops at several schools, churches and tourist attractions in that parish.

On Monday, February 1, the symbolic Broken Trident will be handed over to St. Thomas in a ceremony at Holy Innocents Primary School, Welchman Hall, at 8:00 a.m.

The next day, Tuesday, February 2, it will be on display at the Welchman Hall Post Office from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and at Harrison Cave on Wednesday, February 3, also from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Challenor School will play host to the Broken Trident on Friday, February 5, from 8:00 a.m., as will Sharon Primary School on Monday, February 8; The Lester Vaughn School on Monday, February 15; Hillaby Turners Hall Primary on Friday, February 19; and Welches Primary on Monday, February 22.

On Thursday, February 18, the commemorative Broken Trident will ???return home??? to Williams Industries, where it was constructed. On Tuesday, February 23, visitors to Welchman Hall Gully will view the added attraction of the Broken Trident from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Residents of the Gordon Cummins Hospital, Rock Hall, will not be left out; they will receive the symbolic Trident on Friday, February 26.

Churches in St. Thomas will also play host to the commemorative Broken Trident. ??Sharon Moravian Church will receive the Trident on Sunday, February 14, from 9:00 a.m., while the New Testament Church of God at Bridgefield will have its turn on Sunday, February 21, from 8:00 a.m. The movement of the Broken Trident in St. Thomas will end on Sunday, February 28, when it will be on display at St. Thomas Parish Church from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

The commemorative Broken Trident was presented to Prime Minister Freundel Stuart at the official launch of the 50th Anniversary celebrations on January 6, in Independence Square. In the coming months, it will traverse all 11 parishes before it is permanently housed in a monument to be erected at the Garrison Savannah.
