Technical and vocational educators from across the region will soon benefit from a workshop aimed at providing them with tools to support the development and delivery of occupational standards.

It will be hosted by the CARICOM Education for Employment Programme (C-EFE), in association with the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development and the Colleges and Institutes of Canada.

The three-day workshop, which begins on Monday, June 23, and will be held at Marriott Courtyard, The Garrison Area, Hastings, Christ Church.

Attendees will be drawn from colleges and institutes across the Caribbean and Canada which are collaborating on the development of new programmes.

They will be joined by representatives from National Training Agencies and TVET Councils, which form the Technical Working Group for Occupational Standards under the auspices of the Caribbean Association of National Training Authorities.

The C-EFE programme was launched in March 2012, and is designed to contribute to an increased competitive, productive and gender-equitable workforce in the CARICOM region by supporting the development of enhanced, demand-driven TVET and workforce certification systems.
