Two Heritage Days At The Barbados Museum

admin Ministry News

This island’s culture will be showcased this month when the Barbados Museum hosts two Heritage Days to help the public understand how natural heritage is used to reflect our cultural legacy.

The first will be held next Wednesday, July 13, and will feature Clay Creations. Members of the public will get an opportunity to meet local ceramic artisans and purchase handmade bowls, vases and other items for their homes. Lunch and Bajan confectionary will also be on sale.

On Wednesday, July 27, a variety of tasty dishes and beverages made from locally grown fruits and vegetables will be on sale during the Eat, Drink and be Merry heritage day. The link between crops grown here and popular Bajan dishes will be explored, while patrons will get a chance to enjoy Crop Over music. CDs will also be on sale.

Both events will be held at the Barbados Museum, The Garrison, St. Michael, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Admission is free for locals and all CARICOM nationals on presentation of their identification.

For further information on the heritage days, the public should contact the Barbados Museum at telephone number 427-0201 or email info@barmuse.org.bb.
