The Coastal Zone Management Unit (CZMU), in collaboration with the Caribbean Youth Environment Network Barbados chapter, will host the third underwater cleanup on Saturday, August 6, off Brandon’s Beach, Brandons, St. Michael.

Scuba divers and other interested persons are asked to meet on the beach near Weiser’s Beach Bar at 7:00 a.m. for a prompt 7:30 a.m. start.

They should also email Sadie-Ann Sisnett or Richard Suckoo at the CZMU at ssisnett@coastal.gov.bb, or rsuckoo@coastal.gov.bb respectively, by Thursday, August 4, to confirm participation in the underwater clean-up. Alternatively, they can both be contacted by calling 622-1610.

In addition, there will also be a storytelling session for children after the dive at 9:30 a.m. and an appearance by Zana, the mascot.

The cleanup activities form part of a larger project called CleanBim, which brings together agencies, companies and non-governmental organisations to engage the public, create awareness, and encourage residents to clean Barbados and keep the environment clean.
