The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation and the Pan American Health Organisation, will observe Vaccination Week in the Americas from Saturday, April 25 to Saturday, May 2.
Activities begin on Saturday with a health promotion outreach from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at three venues ??? the Speightstown Esplanade, St. Peter; Heroes Square, Bridgetown; and Emerald City, Six Roads, St. Peter.
On Sunday, April 26, there will be a church service at the Mount Olive United Pentecostal Church, Carrington???s Village, St. Michael.
On Monday, April 27, the expanded programme on immunisation and the HPV vaccine will be the subject of a televised discussion on CBC TV???s Mornin??? Barbados with guests, Pediatrician Dr. Michelle Lashley; Senior Health Sister Julyette Serrano; and parent Sophia Allsopp.
Polyclinics island-wide will host Open Days on Wednesday, April 29, and Thursday, April 30.??The theme for the week is: Boost Your Power! Get Vaccinated.
