The Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health will continue its free rodent bait distribution and information sessions this Saturday, December 1, at eight locations in St. Michael.

From 9:00 a.m. to noon, Environmental Health Officers will be dispatched to??A&B Mobile Canteen, Green Hill; Lodge Hill Mini-Mart; Eden Lodge Primary School; Whitley’s Bar & Grocery, Free Hill, Black Rock; Mount Zion United Church, Wavell Avenue, Black Rock; Roach Mini-Mart, Long Gap, Grazettes; Lawrence. T. Gay Primary School, Spooners Hill; and Fairfield Variety, Fairfield Main Road, Black Rock.

Persons who live and work in the surrounding areas are urged to collect the bait and learn how to use it to control rodents.?? The six-week campaign has been launched in response to an upsurge in Leptospirosis cases and rodent complaints in particular areas.?? Approximately 1, 600 bait packets were distributed to residents of St. James and St. Thomas last weekend.??

The Health Ministry has reminded persons that free rodent bait is also available from the Vector Control Unit, located at Jemmott’s Lane in St. Michael.
