The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation will host two professional development workshops this week, as part of its efforts to enhance the skills and talents of students performing in this year’s Schools’ Music Festival.

The first workshop, which targets primary schools, will take place this Thursday, February 9, while the second aimed at secondary school students, will be on Friday, February 10. Both will be held at The Prince Cave Hall, Station Hill, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Musicians, professionals and image creators will work with these semi-finalists, who would have passed through the preliminary rounds from January 23 to 30.

The Schools’ Music Festival is a biennial event, first held in 2015.  It aims to identify and develop musical talent, as well as provide a platform to showcase musical excellence. The music festival is open to all students in public and private primary and secondary schools.
