The Natural Heritage Department’s (NHD) annual De Heart Uh Barbados 10K Run and 5k Walk is celebrating its tenth anniversary.

The annual event, will take place on Saturday, June 16, when runners and walkers will meet at the Project House, No. 1 Sturges, St. Thomas, for a 6:00 a.m. start.

Those participating in this year’s event are asked to register at the NHD’s Sturges, St. Thomas headquarters, or go online at http://heritage.gov.bb/ and download a copy of the registration form.

Copies of the route map for the walk and the run may also be downloaded from the website.

All registration forms must be submitted to the NHD by Friday, June 15, as there will be no registration on the day of the event.

Children under the age of 15 will only be allowed to enter the 5K Walk. Meanwhile, the age limit for those who can participate has been extended to persons over the age of 65.

The event, which is designed to get the community involved in physical activity will leave Sturges, St. Thomas and move along Highway Two; pass the Sturges Plantation; on to Bloombury; Orchard; Canefield Road pass the Challenor School and the Canefield Plantation; Fortress Hill; Lion Castle Tenantry; pass the St. Thomas Post Office on to 2nd Avenue Welchman Hall; Bryan Road; on to Allen View, before finishing on the NHD grounds also in St. Thomas.
