The first in a series of town hall meetings on the Barbados Secondary Schools??? Entrance Examination (BSSEE) will begin next month.

An initiative of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, the familiarisation sessions aim to sensitise all stakeholders to the processes involved in the administration of the examination, familiarly known as the 11-Plus or Common Entrance Examination.

Senior Education Officer, Glyne Price, and Principal of St. Bernard???s Primary School, Everton Briggs, will conduct the sessions, which will, among other things, instruct persons on how to fill out the forms used in the BSSEE, including those for choice of school, deferral and special requests. All meetings begin at 5:00 p.m.

Parents and guardians of children, who will be taking the 2016 BSSEE, are advised that the first meetings will take place on Saturday, November 14, at Roland Edwards Primary School, Battaleys, St. Peter, as well as the Church of God of Prophecy (behind Milton Lynch Primary School) in Christ Church.??On Tuesday, November 17, the team will move to St. Bartholomew Primary School, Parish Land, Christ Church, and Sharon Primary, Sharon, St. Thomas.

Cuthbert Moore Primary, St. Helen, St. George, and Bay Primary School, Bayville St. Michael, will be the next venues on Thursday, November 19, while on Saturday, November 21, town hall meetings will be held at Blackman and Gollop Primary, Staple Grove, Christ Church, and Wesley Hall Primary School, King Street, St. Michael.

The following day, Sunday, November 22, meetings will occur at St. Lucy Primary, Trents, St. Lucy, and St. George Primary, Constant, St. George.??Tuesday, November 24, will see meetings at the Western Light Church of the Nazarene, West Terrace, St. Michael, and George Lamming Primary School, Flint Hall, St. Michael.??On Thursday, November 26, the team will journey to A. DaCosta Edwards Primary School, Belleplaine, St. Andrew, and Eden Lodge Primary at Eden Lodge, St. Michael.

Princess Margaret Secondary School in Six Roads, St. Philip, and St. John???s Primary, Glebe Land, St. John, will be targeted on Saturday, November 28.??Meetings will conclude on Thursday, December 3, at The St. Michael School, Martindale???s Road, St. Michael. Parents and guardians have been urged by the Ministry of Education to attend any meeting considered to be convenient for them.
