Twelve persons are into the finals of the Baje To The World Talent Show.

The Community Development Department of the Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment announced the finalists this week.

This follows six months of preliminaries and developmental workshops where 30 persons, including vocalists, dancers and instrumentalists showcased their talent and were selected to compete at the semi-finals held on Sunday, February 23, at the Copacabana, Bay Street, St. Michael.

The finalists were selected based on the compilation of the judges’ scores attained during the semi-final show and public votes, which were accumulated on social media.

They are: Chad Bowen, Rebekah Carter, Trinity Clarke, Casheda Dottin, Anna Greenidge, Destinee Hunte, Dwayne Jones, Dario Piggott, Regina Ruck, Cindy Springer, Shekara Straker, and Justin Taylor.

However, with Barbados being at Stage 1 in the national response to COVID-19, the staging of the Baje To The World Finals has been postponed. A new date will be announced following the national protocol and the relevant instruction from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The Ministry of Youth and Community Empowerment congratulated the finalists and all persons who participated in the Baje To The World Talent Show.

The Ministry also looks forward to the finals, whenever it is held, and to supporting the winners who are expected to represent Barbados at the 2021 Britain’s Got Talent.

This initiative highlighted the immense talent which Barbadians possess, and it is the Ministry’s intention to continue the programme in order to provide an opportunity for more people to showcase and develop their talents.

The 2019-2020 programme engaged 230 participants from all 11 parishes across Barbados.  In addition to developmental workshops, there was peer mentoring to support the overall development of the participants.
