Fifteen young people participating in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment /Prince’s Trust International’s Get Hired programme will get the opportunity to be interviewed for jobs with Platinum Services Barbados, tomorrow, Wednesday, December 8.

The interviews will be held in the Sky Mall Conference Room, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael.

This follows an intensive first day session on Tuesday, December 7, of the two-day Get Hired programme for young people 16 to 25 years, who are ‘job ready’ and eager to enter the job market.

The two-day programme involves a series of preparatory and refresher sessions to assist the participants in being equipped to enter the workforce and be confident in job interviews.

On Day One, a team of facilitators presented to participants on ‘Work Ethic and Etiquette’, ‘Effective Communication’, ‘Teamwork’ and ‘Ethical Behaviour’.  Each session exposed the young participants to the qualities and attributes that employers generally look for when hiring staff.

The presentations also featured key elements specific to the current COVID19 climate, including appropriateness for virtual meetings and interview etiquette. As is customary with previous sessions, Day One focused on building the required soft skills when entering the workplace.

Day Two, tomorrow, Wednesday, will include a presentation by Managing Director of Platinum Services Barbados, Mrs. Shelley Williams, during the opening session, prior to the interview component.
