Another opportunity is being provided for Barbadians to relive the 1937 Labour Rebellion – this time during a walking tour in Golden Square, Bridgetown, on Saturday, September 8.

Those members of the public who are interested in participating in the tour, which will run from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., should reserve spaces by contacting the Barbados Museum and Historical Society at telephone number 427-0201, or e-mailing info@barbmuse.org.bb.??

An official of the Museum explained that "participants will stand on the site that served as the epicentre of the rebellion. They will also seek to trace the action that occurred in Bridgetown, which will include visiting the places where the ???rebels’ armed themselves with pieces of wood, commandeered buses and the drama that unfolded at the Mutual Building and along Broad Street. The final stop will be Queen’s Park, where the Moyne Commission sessions were held.

Historian Henderson Carter, along with Kevin Farmer and Miguel Pena of the Barbados Museum, will lead the tour.
