Young Barbadian innovators are being invited to participate in a competition which will afford them the opportunity to obtain US$ 15,000 in funding.

The contest, sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), has been dubbed the 2014 ???Greenovators Competition??? and aims to reward individuals for developing innovative ideas, projects and sustainable solutions to counter the challenges of climate change facing Latin America and the Caribbean.

Submitted projects must fall within at least one of the following categories: Education and Awareness, Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Transport, Sustainable Business, Resilient Agriculture and Water Resources.

Eligible participants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 (at the time of registering the project). To register and submit proposals, interested persons or groups must complete the online form on the website http://www.iadb.org/en/topics/climate-change/greenovators/.

In addition, all winners will have the opportunity to participate in the Greenovators event, which will take place in Costa Rica. The deadline for submission is Saturday, August, 30.
