Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Chris Sinckler

Come tomorrow, Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Chris Sinckler, is expected to have loans totaling $40,600,000 for the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) approved in Parliament.

The sum represents a guarantee for the payment of the principal and interest which is to be borrowed by CBC from the Bank of Nova Scotia to finance the purchase of digital MCTV equipment. The monies will also be used to consolidate debt obligations to the National Insurance Board and the Value Added Tax Department and assist with the financing of the 2011-2014 Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Programme.

In addition, Minister of Family, Culture, Sports and Youth, Stephen Lashley, will move the passing of a Resolution to take note of and endorse the national bi-partisan approach for Members of Parliament to work with communities to prevent HIV.

Mr. Lashley will also have Members of the Lower House consider the 2011 United Nations (UN) Political Declaration adopted at the UN High-Level Meeting, which was held in New York, from June 8-10, this year.
