Members of the public are invited to the annual 4R???s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover) Fair, which takes place tomorrow, Saturday, February 8, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

This year???s fair will feature the launch of the Green Smiles CD, which is designed to teach young children about proper waste management practices and discourage them from negative practices such as littering.

Waste Management Coordinator with the Solid Waste Project Unit, Thora Lorde explained that the fair was designed to encourage children to get away from such negative practices as littering which could have harmful effects on land, gully and marine ecosystems. She added that there would also be a children???s play area with Waste Buster.

However, businesses too will have an opportunity to benefit from this year???s 4R???s Fair as opportunities will be provided for them to find out more about recycling and reducing their operation costs.

The fair will also feature exhibits from a number of companies including the Sanitation Service Authority, Sustainable Barbados Recycling Centre, B???s Recycling, and the Future Centre Trust.

The National Conservation Commission will also hold a plant sale, while the Botanical Gardens is expected to do a presentation from 11:00 a.m. until noon.
