Come next month the Probation Department will celebrate 65 years of existence.

Under the theme "Community Alert! Participate in Positive Social Change," the department will host a week of activities to observe this important milestone.

To kick-start the week, which will begin Sunday, June 6, there will be a church service at the Calvary Moravian Church, Roebuck Street, starting at 9:00 a.m.

The next day, Monday, June 7, the department will hold an Open Day from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.?? This will provide an opportunity for clients and their families, other social service agencies, students and the general public to be sensitised about the programmes and services being offered.

There will also be exhibits from staff showcasing their various skills and talents and the 65th visitor to the department will receive a special prize.

As part of the organisation’s community outreach programme, on Tuesday, June 8 and Wednesday, June 9, staff will visit the Geriatric Hospital and the St. Lucy District Hospital, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 10: 00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., respectively.?? While there, staff will donate toiletries to the wards.

The week will close on Friday, June 11, with a staff appreciation day.??This will begin at 10:00 a.m. with health checks for staff, followed by a power point presentation on the state of the ozone.
