Faith leaders representing the Muslim, Jewish, Christian and Rastafarian communities will come together to discuss Peace in a World of Conflict – Building on a Common Heritage at a panel discussion slated for the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St, Michael, next Wednesday, June 19.

The discussion, which is open to the public, is part of the Abrahamic Faiths Conference, which takes place at Codrington College on June 18 and 19.

The conference, hosted by the college, in partnership with the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, will bring together representatives of the three Abrahamic faiths – Christian, Jewish and Muslim, along with members of the Rastafarian community to engage across religions, and seek a common defence against violence.

The panel discussion, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will be chaired by journalist, David Ellis.

The panel will comprise founder and director of the Ihsan Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Shaykh Ahmad Muhammad Saad; Rabbi, Westminster Synagogue, Thomas Salamon; General Secretary of the Anglican Communion, Archbishop Josiah Idowu-Fearon; Ras Iral of the Rastafarian Community; and lecturer in Sociology at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Dr. Alana Griffith.

All interested persons are invited to attend.
