The Bureau of Gender Affairs will host a number of activities, beginning on Wednesday, November 25, to observe 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

On Sunday, November 22, the Bureau will host a service at the Ellerton Wesleyan Holiness Church, Ellerton, St. George, at 8:00 a.m.

Then, to officially launch the campaign on Wednesday, November 25, the Bureau, in collaboration with Women and Development (WAND), will host a march against gender-based violence at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus, The Pine, St. Michael, at 10:00 a.m.

The Bureau will also partner with UN Women and the Institute for Gender and Development Studies, to highlight the Step It Up to end Violence against Women and Girls Film Festival 2015.

The film festival will run from Wednesday, November 25, to Tuesday, December 15, in the foyer of the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination, UWI, Cave Hill, St. Michael.

On Thursday, November 26, the public is invited to a panel discussion, held in association with the Criminal Justice Research and Planning Unit of the Office of the Attorney General, entitled: Changing Her Image Culturally. It will take place at the Barbados Workers??? Union, Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael, at 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, November 28, the National Organisation of Women (NOW) will host the NOW on the Move Motorcade, beginning at Baobab Tower, Warrens, St. Michael, at 9:00 a.m. Also on that day a film show entitled: Monday???s Girl, will be staged at the UWI Open Campus, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

A panel discussion on domestic violence will be held on Wednesday, December 2, at the Young Women???s Christian Association, Deacon???s Resource Centre, Deacons, St. Michael, from 6:30 p.m.

Then, on Friday, December 4, the Bureau and the Business and Professional Women???s Club will showcase a Gender-Based Violence display, on the Ground Floor, Baobab Tower, Warrens, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On Sunday, December 6, the Barbados Literacy Foundation will host a 50 metre Stiletto Run, in the carpark of Baobab Tower, at 4:00 p.m.
