As part of celebrations to mark International Week of the Deaf 2014, which will be held from Sunday, September 21, to Sunday, September 28, under the theme: Unifying for Change, the New Life Deaf Club, in collaboration with the National Disabilities Unit, will hold two workshops and a panel discussion.

The first workshop will be held on Tuesday, September 23, under the theme: Understanding the Deaf Community and Interpreters, at the Horatio Cooke Auditorium, National Union of Public Workers??? Headquarters, Dalkeith, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The following day, Wednesday, September 24, the panel discussion entitled: The Importance of Advocacy for the Deaf and Interpreters, will also be held at the Auditorium, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend both events.

The final workshop ??? Advocacy for YOU and Interpreters, is open to members of the deaf community only, and will be held on Thursday, September 25, at the Horatio Cook Auditorium.??Registration for the workshops can be completed by emailing deafbarbadosinc@gmail.com, or by calling 238-3819.
