The St. Philip District Hospital will be staging a week of activities to observe Senior Citizens’ Month, from September 7 to 12.

An Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be held on Sunday, September 6, under the theme "Celebrating the Past, Embracing the Present, Looking to the Future", at the Hospital’s courtyard at 3:00 p.m. Retired staff members will be presented with awards during this service.

Staff members will get their chance to reminisce about past experiences in the form of a discussion dubbed, ???Looking Back’, on Tuesday, September 8, at the Hospital, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. On display will be furniture, clothing and equipment used in the early days.

The week’s events will continue with a debate on the topic: ???To Restrain or Not to Restrain’, on Thursday, September 10, in the Church Hall of Holy Trinity Church, opposite King George V Memorial Park, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Celebrations will culminate with a staff appreciation day on Friday, September 11, at the hospital from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and an ???Ole Time Market Day’ on Saturday, September 12 on the hospital’s grounds, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Activities for Senior Citizens’ Month were created to bring greater attention to the elderly patients at the district hospitals, to provide them with forms of recreation and to pay tribute to them for their contributions to society.

The St. Philip District Hospital is inviting members of the public to participate in these events.
